Qualifications

According to St. Paul a Bishop should:

• Be above approach
• married only once
• temperate
• sensible
• respectable
• hospitable
• an apt teacher
• not a drunkard
• not violent, but gentle
• not quarrelsome
• not a lover of money
• manage his own household
• keep his children submissive and respectful
• not be a recent convert
• be well thought of by outsiders

There was also something about keeping your wife submissive in the version I saw in my Bible. I am so glad I am not trying to be a Bishop… 1 Timothy is a funny moment!

I wonder what one’s qualifications would be to be a priest. I will come up with some and come back to it. Let me know what you think the qualifications are.
